MetaMask – Ethereum Browser Extension

MetaMask, an extension for the Ethereum browser that allows users to view the Ethereum blockchain directly from their browser. This extension allows users to conduct Ethereum transactions directly from their web browser.

What is the secret to it?

The MetaMask extension incorporates Ethereum’s web3 API to any website’s Javascript context, meaning when you open a web page, the extension will be able to read the information stored in the blockchain. This includes the Ethereum addresses of all wallets and their associated balances. It also includes the Ethereum address, balance of contract address, number of transactions, and other information.

As soon as a user signs up, a wallet is created in the user’s MetaMask client and the user can move tokens between addresses, make transfers and withdrawals, and move funds between wallets.
